Academic Research Group Website Template

Academic group template emblem

This starter site is built for academic labs, research centers, and faculty groups that want a clean, static website with minimal setup. Replace the example data, placeholder media, and contact details with your own content and publish it on GitHub Pages or any static host.

What this template includes:

  • Data-driven content: people, publications, projects, news, patents, and gallery items are managed from JSON files in the data/ directory.
  • Academic group structure: dedicated pages for team members, alumni, open positions, research projects, and publications are already wired up.
  • Reusable assets: the repository now ships with neutral SVG placeholders so you can open-source it without exposing private group photos or institution-specific branding.
  • Fast customization: update the copy, swap the placeholder graphics, and publish without introducing a build step or framework dependency.

Use this as a starting point for AI, robotics, systems, HCI, computational biology, or any other research group that wants a lightweight public-facing site.
